2007 Team Update - EcoRegen receives Global Award
2007 competitors, EcoRegen, from Swinburne University of Technology have been selected as the inaugural Global Winner of the 2008 Licensing Executives Society (LES) Foundation graduate Student Business Plan competition in Chicago, USA.
EcoRegen was among seven innovation-minded graduate student teams from across the globe chosen to compete in the finals. The team received a US$5,000 cash prize.
President of LESI, Chikao Fukuda presents the global Award to Khai Yip Mun, CEO of EcoRegen.
Cleanspray (Amiellen) attend Global Moot Corp
Thirty-eight teams from fourteen countries, attended the Global Moot Corp Competition, to compete for four places in the final. Unfortunately, the Cleanspray team did not win a finals berth. However the news for Cleanspray is not all bad.
The judge's feedback was extremely complimentary. They said that there was a fundamental question about the business model that they did not understand from the business plan and presentation, but was knocked on its head during Q & A, that limited Cleanspray from winning its heat. Had that point been dealt with in the business plan, it was implied that the team would have received the nod.
The team were up against a very high level of competition. They can walk away from Global Moot Corp with their heads held high: it was not through lack of preparation, application or performance that the team did not make the finals. They have even been approached by one judge who is interested in becoming involved in their venture!
