The John Heine Entrepreneurial Challenge (JHEC) Strategy Advisory Group communicates with, and provides advice to, the Director and organisers of the competition. Overall, it is responsible for contributing to strategic decision-making, generating ideas to grow the national and local profile of the competition and to attract a larger audience for the event. Advisory Group members assist in maintaining an impartial view and presence within the competition, resulting in fair and balanced outcomes.
More specifically, the role of Strategy Advisory Group is to:
- raise awareness of the competition through existing business networks
- make recommendations on the overall strategic direction and future outcomes of the competition
- assist with sourcing and approval of selected judges
- provide links to potential competition supporters
- advocate the Challenge actively to the business community
- provide suggestions about official competition documentation (competitor information, submission guidelines and rules)
- provide feedback on the current year’s competition and recommendations for future competitions.
The vision of the Strategy Advisory Group, as agreed by its members, is to steadily increase the number of universities participating in the competition over the next three years and to raise the profile of the competition in order to attract high quality business ventures that are viable in today’s business world .
